I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars so I'm going with 3.5. Fun story, page turner but not as good as the first two. I do definitely see a tv series in here. I think it's pretty obvious the entire series was written with something like that in mind. The way Kaitlyn develops, her relationship with Lucas, the various plots and how certain characters come in and out...it is all much better played as a tv series than a book. As a book, I feel like I need things to come more full circle. There wasn't completeness with these things (for lack of better words) and that would have been fine tv-wise but not book-wise. Book 3 does not get into Kaitlyn or Lucas' head much at all so I felt like I lost touch with them. I feel it would have been better to stick with Kaitlyn and Eliza oh and leave a little more mystery untold about Elliot. This type of story, I would have preferred building on the connection I already had with Kaitlyn from the first two books and not spending so much time with Elliot. I don't feel like it benefited the story. He was too messed up to build a connection with but as a reader, I also never grew to truly hate him so to me, his perspective was just a waste. As the bad guy and primary character to basically moving the story along, he should evoke some very strong emotions one way or another but he just didn't. I really liked Eliza's character and thought she would be good to build on but the time spent elsewhere took away from that possibility. Kaitlyn and Lucas's relationship was what drew me into this interesting storyline but after book 1, aside from a few parts of book 2 this is no longer developed. Their relationship is pretty much irrelevant despite the fact that he is Herbert of creator and the only person she trusts until suddenly she trusts basically everyone. I don't know, soooo much potential here but book 3 fell flat. I do wish the derisively continue though and I would continue buying the books because they are interesting enough to continue, but I would prefer if they kept closer to book 1's style with a bit of book 2's action.

Ttt.
I’m glad to be done with this series.

When did Kaitlyn turn into a 40 year old noir gumshoe? Seriously, Julia Crane needs to set up her motivations and stop making generic statements which are out of character. This book was one big sarcastic eye-roll for me.

So much flawed reasoning and immature behaviour. Many situations feel like they are half out of context. I was skimming and angry reading. It was frustrating but my OCD had me seeing it right through to the end - I can't leave something unfinished. And I had to find out what happened.

This final book in the trilogy (hopefully) added yet more perspectives Madeline, then Kaitlyn, Elliot and Eliza… No one book in this collection is in the same format as another. It is agitating. We also see an Ouija board used as a plot device, which certainly did not match the mythology/history of the series and felt cheap.

Kaitlyn broke character as well - her train of thought bordered on paranoid, which digressed from her established personality in the previous books and did feel not realistic for a girl her age.

Eliza had her head screwed on right and I was starting to enjoy ‘Fatal Abduction’ in parts until just after halfway through, and then I lost all hope. This character would be the books redeeming quality as far as the multiple protagonists go, but the behaviour of her parents added to the books descent into ridiculousness.

The only other good point I can think to mention was that the last five or so chapters had great pacing and action scenes. I was hoping this series would get better, but it became more disjointed and convoluted. I wound not recommend these books to anyone I know. Interesting concepts, but needs to go back to the drawing board, address the basics in storytelling and go through an extensive editing/vetting process.

The print was bad too - askew on the page throughout the entire book. How can a writer get things so consistently wrong in every aspect of the writing-publishing process? Every book in this series has had spelling errors, grammatical errors, formatting issues and low production quality…. I should also lump the publishing team in with this, they are responsible for representing the author and preventing this kind of low quality getting to bookstores. Valknut Press – you need to up your game.
A great novel a serial killer stalking in kaitlyn's neighborhood watch her shine. This would make an excellent movie series. Can't wait for next book.
This one is a bit more psychological than the first two in the trilogy and it was great! It kept me hooked the entire time!
I can't get enough! This series has an awesome story line that keeps me hooked page after page. In this 3rd book Kaitlyn continues to grow into herself and embrace her enhancements while at the same time learning who she is as a human. This series is interesting and refreshing. There is an obvious bond and love between Kaitlyn and Lucas, but you are not bombarded by sappy or over sexualized interactions. I love the IFICS series and look forward to more.
There aren't very many series that can justify going longer than a few books before the plot wears thin, not so here. There are still a lot of thinks left hanging and an immense amount of possibility left, not to mention it's almost episodic format that means there isn't a set "bad guy" with a set goal, she's not fighting some global conspiracy. That means the plot can focus entirely on the characters with the actions being a catalyst for development, like the cop shows that have become so popular.

This is a gem of a series and it gets dismissed too easily because of short length.
Best book yet in the series. While real life horror stories are hard for me to read, this was fabulously written. The story moved steadily and was pretty captivating. A lot of hold your breath moments.

I loved that the victim was strong in this and that she fought for her life, not only physically but, mentally.

It was great to see Quess have a bigger role in this book. And, as always, I loved seeing the returning characters. The way that Kate and her team work together is always cool to read about.

Being that I did listen to the audible version of this, I do have to note that the narrator is absolutely spot on perfect for this series.
